Our last two 2017 Scaleless female corns without color or pattern mutations are now for sale. They are approximately 15″ long, eating frozen/thawed pinky mice. They are $600.00 USD each, and that includes note: ALL Scaleless corns in the hobby toDAY (including SCALED corns that are carriers of the Scale-less mutation–aka Het Scaleless) are descendants of the original pairing of a Corn Snake to an Emory’s Ratsnake (aka: Great Plains Ratsnake). Therefore, all Scaleless corns (and their scaled siblings) are inter-species hybrids.

Similar to a picture I featured in 2016, a comparison of the sloughed epidermis (shed skin) of a Scaleless corn and that of a scaled corn (scaleless version lower-right). The belly scales of both are similar, HOWEVER, there seems to be a thickness to the skin of the Scaleless mutants that surpasses the skin thickness of most scaled corns??

Has anyone seen any corns with depigmented (white) spots like these? If anyone has any pictures of corns of any color/morph/mutation with such white spots, please, link me to article, pictures or data on this subject. I’ve had corns with a few tiny blotches of white, but never this many, of this size. s . . .

If either of the parents of this Miami Okeetee corn are het for Caramel, it’s unbeknownst to me, SO, I don’t understand why this one exhibits such strong yellow in the first part of the body, unless it’s overt early exhibition of carotenoid retention?? The latter is surely the explanation, so it will be interesting to see what this snake looks like in another year, two years, five years?

LOTS of black mixed in with the lateral white of this 2016 Striped Pied-sided Bloodred corn snake. Note, also, the lateral purely red/orange patches in the lower middle body zone in this picture? If she follows in the foot prints of her SMR ancestors she will be much redder when she’s another year or two older. . . .
