This 2017 male Lava Tessera corn snake is currently 12″ long, eating frozen/thawed pinky mice.  His mother is a Lavender, so this guy is 100% het for Lavender.   Paired to a female with the same genotype, Lava Lavender Tesseras would be among the progeny.  His $225.00 price includes

Snake of the Day 11-08-17

Show & Tell

Compared to all of the High-white Reverse Okeetees we’ve featured in the past weeks, this one eclipses them all.  Note how the first 1/3 of his body does not exhibit the usual yellow or orange”stained” white ground zones between markings, as we see in most High-white Reverse Okeetees?  This one ranks among the best ones in the hobby and perhaps the best I’ve ever seen?  Reds in Amel corns are difficult enough to render via selective-breeding, but the white ground color is the toughest result of exhaustive selective breeding.

Snake of the Day 11-18-17

Show & Tell

A relatively common color morph for its species, Gray-banded Kingsnake, Lampropeltis alterna, but a very UNcommon color scheme for snakes of any other species on this planet.  This one is commonly referred to as a medium-phase (between Light Phase and Dark Phase).  Further, it’s morph/phase used to be called BLAIR’s, to denote that it did not possess the alternating markings between triads that the Alterna Morphs exhibit.  The first Alterna I collected in the wild was a dark phase on Pandale Dirt Road near Langtry, Texas, in 1973.  A very unforgettable moment in my life.  A common species in the snake hobby toDAY, collecting them at night in the deserts of Texas and New Mexico is not as easy as it sounds.  They are very rarely found in the wild, compared to virtually any other species in Texas and New Mexico.  Bonus PIC . . .

{product id=1816}

This 21” female 2016 Amel is currently eating frozen/thawed large pinky mice.  She was very upset being photographed toDAY.  Both of her parents were high-white Reverse Okeetees.  She didn’t try to bite, but was very squirmy and just had to paint my hand with musk, so her lower price reflects her less-than-congenial behavior. Her $75.00 price includes

This 13″ male 2017 Striped Salmon Snow corn snake is currently eating frozen/thawed pinky mice. He will be much more deeply pink in another year, and more-so thereafter.  His $235.00 price includes

                                                         Happy  Halloween

No, I did not make a Halloween costume for this Scaleless corn.  Didn’t see that she was sporting some eye brows (pseudo horns?) until I took the pic.   Bonus Pic . . .
