This adult Palmetto Corn (and perhaps two others) reached the age of three this year. A blush of yellow is starting to become more and more obvious as some of them mature. I noted a little of it on this female last year and recall thinking how much it looked like a dusting of pollen. This year, there is perhaps 50% yellow than last year. Surely this is exhibition of Carotenoid yellow that is retained from their rodent diet, like we see in so many Anery and Snow corn snake mutants. This is obviously not to say that it only occurs in those mutations (and obviously this one) but it is perhaps just more obvious in these mutants. What other surprises will this amazing Palmetto gene mutation show us next? S . . .

This 2013 Red Mask Anery Motley (from a Coral Snow) is really starting to saturate colors, but I wish it would only deepen ground color zones. Selective breeding down the line may help control which body zones saturate most?

Not the first time this gem has been featured, I just had to complement a lucky corn snake keeper outside the U.S. who purchased this highly-freckled Palmetto female earlier this year. Can’t wait to see pix of her at full maturity. Her eye dramatically demonstrates why I call these Leucistic mutants.

Here’s the female Cayenne Fire I took to NARBC last weekend for Terri. So sad she could not have made it to that expo. She’s on her way this week, Terri.

A million thanks to Terri Bienkowski for this amazing Rhinoceros (Rhino) Rat Snake Rhynchophis boulengeri. I’ve wanted one all my life. This beauty was on display at our booth at this past weekend’s NARBC in Arlington, Texas.
Sorry this is SOOOO late toDAY. I’m at the NARBC Reptile Convention in Arlington, Texas where I forgot to publish this morning’s S.O.T.D.
Thank you John Stolz and Wes Myler for making the expo so successful. Your yard work is deeply appreciated. Thanks also to everyone who stopped to visit and buy snakes from us in Arlington this weekend.

2014 male Snow Tessera corn snake from Salmon Snow stock. Will he mature to have coral coloration? It’s very possible since both parents have one gene copy of the Red Mask mutation that causes such coloration in their family lines. His $425.00 price includes S O L D
