Snake of the Day 10-22-18

Show & Tell

“A face only a mother could love??” More pics of Tara Small‘s adult MicroScale corn snake mutant. A few observations: 1) all of them so far are missing scales on their faces and heads, 2) the markings are more pronounced (have higher contrast) than typical corns, theoretically because there are more scales per square inch than their non-mutant corn counterparts–AND/OR–because there is more obvious space between scales?, 3: different body zones have different sized and shaped scales, but all of them are much smaller than those on typical corn snakes.
