Snake of the Day 11-12-14

Adult 2009 female Tessera breeder.  She lays two clutches of eggs annually, averaging 24 eggs per season.  Though I have never tried to prove her genetics, two of her sisters turned out to be het Sunkissed.  I’ve always bred her to High-white Reverse Okeetees because her babies have such high volume of black markings.  She is 46″ long and weighs 415 grams empty, eating frozen/thawed adult mice.  Her $350.00 USD price includes  She is slated for brumation next week.

From the SCRATCH & DENT Department, this 2013 Amel corn snake Het Palmatto has a sizable spinal kink about 1/2 way down her body (pink arrow).  She is 28″ long, eating frozen/thawed unaltered hopper mice.  The growth rate of the kink has always been proportionately the same as the rest of her body (ergo, not out-pacing the normal growth rate of the snake).  If I had the slightest suspicion that the kink would have a negative impact on (or preclude) normal reproduction, she would not be for sale.  Therefore, her $2,000.00 USD price with FREE SHIPPING reflects a 40% discount I’m willing to offer because of her kink.  $OLD

This 2013 male Bloodred Tessera is 29″ long now, eating frozen/thawed small hopper mice.  He should be mature enough to breed in 2015, so anyone wanting to make Bloodred Tesseras only needs adult female non-Tessera Bloodreds or Diffused for this handsome guy.  For those who have seen many of the Diffused (Bloodred) Tesseras, this is an amazingly well-striped specimen.  Most of them have predominantly broken striping.  His $350.00 USD price includes $OLD

2013 male Pied-sided (P/S) Key Corn Snake.  He is 27″ long, eating frozen/thawed adult mice.  This male is the progeny of one F2 Key Corn (aka: Rosy Ratsnakes) from the wild and the other parent was from the pairing of a Key Corn to a Diffused corn.  I have hatched one of these out of every 15-20 siblings, so it’s entirely possible that the lateral (and sometimes facial) random white could be the result of a new mutation.  So far, these have very little of the lateral white patches we expect on P/S Bloodreds, but all have had the tell-tale white that is so common on the faces and necks of some P/S Bloodreds.   His $450.00 USD price includes shipping

2009 female Tessera Corn Snake HET Striped Ghost.  She is a great breeder, but we have too many such Tessera breeders at this time.  She emerged from brumation in August, but we have decided not to breed her right now (we’ll brumate her again next month and breed her in 2015 if she does not sell now).  If you have a male that’s not in brumation, she could be ready to breed now, as she does appear to be showing small eggs.  Since she was not bred since last year, she COULD lay eggs from retained 2013 sperm, but fertility in such cases is traditionally low.  She averages 18 eggs per clutch so she’ll make someone a nice breeder in 2015.  She has never offered to bite, and never squirms to escape when held. Her $450.00 USD price includes shipping
