Snake of the Day 03-05-15

Show & Tell

I was just listening to an Internet Podcast with Sean Bradley speaking to Mike Wilbanks (Naughty Language Warning).  Because I cannot resist multi-tasking, I decided to sort some photographs on my main hard drive while listening.  When Sean and Mike talked about Palmetto Cornsnakes (perhaps 40% into the discussion) I sorted through old pix of Palmettos to find this one from 2014 of a typical Palmetto (on right) and a highly-freckled Palmetto (on left). The new owner of the highly-freckled one is NOT in the U.S. and I’m pretty sure the classic Palmetto in the picture was sold to someone in Europe?  I would sure love to see a recent picture of the Palmetto on the left, a year older now.  That high-freckled one is to date still the ONLY one I’ve hatched with so many freckles, so I’m also eager to know if she owes her abundance of freckles to a separate gene mutation?  Maybe the owner will send me a picture of some of her babies in a few years (which I will get publish permission to share with all of you on this site).
