Super Coral Snow Corn Snake –DAY 1 of 4

For the next four DAYs, the SMR Daily S.O.T.D. and simultaneously published Daily SMR Facebook Features will exhibit variants of some of the Coral Snow Mutant Complex.  The four primary familial representatives of this complex include, Salmons (started by Jim Stelpflug), Champagnes (started by Pasco Paul), Bubblegum Snows (not to be confused with Bubblegum Ratsnakes, hybrid production of Albino Ratsnake X Amel Cornsnake) started by the late Lloyd Lemke, and Neons (refined by Stephen Wagner via enhancement of the colors in Lloyd Lemke’s Bubblegum Snow line).  They the only four known to be the primary lines from which virtually all modern Coral Snow Corns are variants thereof.  To my knowledge, there is only one person who can visually identify which of the four primary families of Coral Snows are exhibited in the Coral Snow types that will be exhibited from July 23rd to July 26th.  No pressure, right, Marsha Matthews of poppycorns.com?

Snake of the Day 07-22-15

Show & Tell

2015 Amel ZagTec corns from Graham Criglow’s stock (perfected by Kasi Lodgigue).  Their pattern “aberrancy” is not attributed to a gene mutation, but to polygenetics (interactions between genes).  The morph name is a combination of the morph names ZigZag and Aztec, neither of which officially denote visible pattern namesake in Zagtecs.  I guess we could say that each of those patterns that has been demonstrated in both of those polygenetic hobby morphs, little of either is obvious in ZagTecs?     Bonus Pic . . .

2015 Lava Tessera corn snake (and siblings).    These (and their siblings) will be offered for sale after their post-partum shed and a few meals.  These will be much redder in a year and will continue to redden for several years of maturity thereafter.     Bonus Pic . . .

Snake of the Day 07-18-15

Show & Tell

2015 Sunkissed corn snakes het for Scaleless Hypo Caramel (parents Honey Motley and Scaleless Hypo).  The sire of these was sold to me as a Scaleless Sunkissed HypoA but was apparently only het for Sunkissed since some of the siblings of these Sunkissed corns were not mutants.  The Honey Motley parent was produced by Chuck Pritzel and Connie Hurley.   These (and their siblings) will be offered for sale after their post-partum shed and a few meals.   Bonus Pic . . .

Snake of the Day 07-17-15

2015 Extreme Okeetee Tesseras that hatched July 5th.  These unassuming, dark Tesseras will have heavy black volume since their parents were a High-white Reverse Okeetee and a very extremely dark Tessera..   Bonus Pic . . .
