Framed insets demonstrate that not all Scaleless corns are scale-less. In fact, very few have no scales above the ventral keel (junction of belly and sides), but virtually all Scaleless corn mutants have most of their belly scales, in one or more size/shape forms. This one has a lot of scales above the keel, compared to most of these mutants in the hobby toDAY, but as you can see they are very irregularly shaped and seemingly zone specific, with regard to basic shapes and sizes? note: ALL Scaleless corns in the hobby toDAY (including SCALED corns that are carriers of the Scale-less mutation–aka Het Scaleless) are descendants of the original pairing of a Corn Snake to an Emory’s Ratsnake (aka: Great Plains Ratsnake). Therefore, all Scaleless corns (and their scaled siblings) are inter-species hybrids.
