Snake of the Day 05-23-18

Show & Tell

Thank you, Darren Bennett (DGB Geckos in Scotland) for making it possible for me to own some of these gems that you discovered and reproduced.  One of the newest gene mutations in the species, Bogertophis subocularis, this fully striped TP Ratsnake is amazing.   Since introducing the first Albino Trans-pecos (aka: suboc) to our hobby back in 1989, I’ve waited a long time to see a fourth mutation demonstrated in this species.  In their order of discovery, the currently proven gene mutations in Subocs are; Blonde, Axanthic, Albino, and Stripe.  Darren sent me a picture of a completely pattern-less Suboc that he hatched, so that COULD be another mutation, once its mode of inheritance is proven?
