Circa 2014, two Sunrise Amel corn snake mutants at around three months of age. One is obviously a Sunrise Amel Tessera. The SUNRISE mutation name derives from how dramatically (and quickly) they change from looking pale and lackluster, to being predominantly red-orange Amels (parallel to the transformation of a morning sunrise beginning with a blush of color, followed by deeply rich colors). The piercing orange color exhibition seen here will not last long. In mere weeks both of these snakes will appear–color wise–to be essentially classic Amel corns. Strong red will nearly supplant the orange color zones a few months later, continuing to saturate through maturity. I should have 2018 hatchling Sunrise Amel corns for sale later this summer.
